PM Imran Khan to inaugurate 2056 flats for industrial workers in Peshawar

Provincial Minister for Labour and Culture Shaukat Yousafzai has announced that Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate the 2056 flats built for industrial workers in Regi Lalma today (Wednesday).

He was communicating to reporters after examining the arrangements for the Prime Minister’s visit on Wednesday. Secretary Labour Department Muhammad Akbar Khan, Secretary Workers Welfare Board Dr. Bilal, and other executives were also present at the event, said a handout.

He said that four large tube wells and overhead tanks have been built in the Labour Complex. Furthermore, electricity and gas have also been produced. He said that those working in industries for three years would be suitable for these flats.

The provincial minister said Phase-1 of the scheme was launched in 2011 and Phase-2 in 2013. Nevertheless, he said, the project was postponed due to a shortage of funds as there was a PML-N government at the Centre.

“Chief Minister Mahmood Khan had assigned me the task to finish this great project as soon as possible,” he added.

He also gave tribute to Zulfi Bukhari, advisor to the prime minister, for his participation in completing the project.

“This is the first project in which the workers will be allotted houses in a transparent manner,” he continued.

He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan requires maximum facilities to be provided to the workers.

A handout said the total cost of flats is Rs5.60 billion and the method of allocation would also commence from tomorrow. The price of each flat will be Rs2.6 million out of which Rs0. 3 million will be paid by the government subsidy and the rest of the amount would be paid in installments.

The Labour Complex has all the amenities including drinking water, roads, mosques, schools, parks, and grounds.

PM Performs Groundbreaking ceremony of Farash Town Apartment of Naya Pakistan Housing

Prime Minister Imran Khan conducted the groundbreaking of Farash Town apartments in Islamabad on Thursday following the Naya Pakistan Housing program.

Later discussing the ceremony, the Prime Minister said the project visualizes the construction of two thousand flats is directed at giving shelter to the underprivileged divisions of the housing society including workers and laborers.

He said he will soon perform groundbreaking of the peri-urban shelter society for the farmers.

Modern Conveniences

The Prime Minister said a plan has also been developed to convert the slums and implement them with modern conveniences including that of cleanliness and sewerage. He said the slum dwellers will be given houses on established rights.

He said the mortgage convenience has been introduced to accommodate loans to the people in easy installments so that they could assemble the houses. He said consultations are continuing with the banks to remove any restrictions.

The Prime Minister disapproved that the economy was mismanaged in history. He said such investments were taken in the past which alternatively of wealth production further expanded the burden of loans.

Wealth creation schemes

Imran Khan said the government is concentrating on wealth creation schemes to retire the country’s debt. He said these involve Ravi City and Central Business District in Lahore whilst negotiations are being held with the Sindh government to strengthen the Bundle Island. He was self-confident that these projects will attract massive investments.

He said the projects to be accomplished under Naya Pakistan Housing Program will also uplift the thirty businesses allied with the production division.

Growth and up-gradation

Imran Khan expressed satisfaction over increased movement in the construction industry. He pointed out that the concrete sale remained at a recording level last year while the growth has also been testified in the tax-collecting which symbolizes the business enterprise has increased in the country.

Imran Khan said it is the first time that the country’s textile industry is testifying a record boom. He said the small and medium businesses will also be uplifted to increase their percentage in the economy.

Imran Khan said we have envisioned up-gradation of the railway line from Karachi to Peshawar. He said consultations are also proceeding to take the train service to the Central Asian States to advance provincial trade.
